Hey you! Thanks for checking my website out! It may be obvious by now, but I'm Rose and I'm an artist and designer living in Gibsons, BC.  I'm also a curious soul who loves treasure hunting at thrift stores and garage sales, learning new things,  spending hours in museums, cats big and small and collecting beautiful books among many other things.  I'm also a self-professed art supply addict.
My biggest passions are my creative work AND inspiring others to find THEIR creative magic.  It's been an adventure (since I moved to Canada at the age of 18 with a dream to make a creative life for myself) that included many jobs, some impressive - some not, some creative - some not.  In there somewhere I became a graphic designer, made information graphics and data visualizations as a freelancer for some companies you may have heard of such as IBM, WiFi, Hitachi and the Atlantic Magazine.  During that time I also worked for Apple and even traveled a bit to train employees for them internationally.
In 2013, as an escape from looking at computer screens, I decided to give sculpting a try and bought a pack of polymer clay.  I became a bit obsessed with making things.  That eventually led to me moving to Vancouver where I made monsters and props for a special FX studio for a couple of years.   During a camping trip, I fell in love with the Sunshine Coast.  Soon after that decided to move here in order to live in the moment and thrive in a smaller community instead of just surviving in a big city.  Being inspired by this most artistic community and the beauty of the surrounding nature, I started painting and exploring my creativity freely.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I found a copy of Uppercase Magazine in a library sale and discovered that surface pattern design could be a career. I have always been obsessed with solving puzzles, illustration and design and this seemed like a natural continuation of my experience, skills and talents . I took Bonnie Christine's Immersion in 2021 to study the subject and am currently working on building my pattern portfolio.
